Disappointment has been expressed at the public auction of the Lahinch Army Barracks and the failure of the County Council to retain the site as a community amenity.
The Barracks has been purchased by Lahinch Golf Club for 560,000 euro.

The site which is adjacent to the sports field in Lahinch was offered to the local authority or a local buyer for the community, at a figure of 350 thousand when it went on sale last year
