Disappointment Over Plans To Push Dublin Airport Over Shannon

Disappointment has been expressed with government plans to develop a third terminal at Dublin Airport, instead of looking to bolster Shannon.

A government-commissioned report has predicted that over 50 million passengers will fly through Dublin by 2050, and Transport Minister Shane Ross says a decision on whether to develop another terminal there will be made early next year.

That terminal could be open by 2030, but the same report suggests only small scale expansion at Shannon and Cork.

Sixmilebridge Fine Gael Councillor John Crowe thinks further expansion at Dublin is not the way to go.
