Clare County Council has re-iterated its view that bye-laws which govern casual trading in the Market area of Ennis over those which govern parking.
The issue has come to light in recent times after it emerged that market stall holders were able to take up spaces which are otherwise reserved for people with disabilities during non-trading days.

Discussing the issue with Councillors in the town, the Council's executive says additional disabled parking is available in nearby Cabey's Lane and in the adjacent multistory car park.
The Council says the matter could be revisited when the first phase of works to rejuvenate the market are complete.
