Domestic Violence Victims Shouldn’t Face Postcode Lottery – Clare Haven

Clare Haven says victims of domestic, sexual or gender-based violence shouldn’t experience a postcode lottery when it comes to support services.

An audit of the state’s response initiated by the Department of Justice, has highlighted distrust, disrespect and blame between Government departments, agencies and non-Government organisations.

The Programme for Government agreed to conduct the analysis amid concerns that the state’s response to deomestic and sexual violence is disparate and fractured.

Manager of Clare Haven Services, Dr Siobhán O’Connor says there’s a strong relationship between agencies here in Clare, but that’s not always the case elsewhere.
