Dooley Calls For Broadband Plans To Be Fast Tracked

Clare's Fianna Fail TD insists the government must fast track plans to provide highspeed broadband to every part of the country.

Timmy Dooley is highlighting a recently Comreg report, which claims that half of businesses and a significant percentage of homes are getting download speeds of less than 10 megabits per second.

Earlier this year, it was announced that the Government's National Broadband Plan, which had aimed to provide speeds of 30 meg to every property in the country by the year 2020 would be delayed by at least two years.

Deputy Dooley, who's Fianna Fail's Spokesperson on Communications, says immediate investment is needed and he fears the plan is already outdated.
