Clare's Fianna Fáil TD insists that additional funding and resources are needed to deal with the ongoing issue of illegal dumping in the county.
Timmy Dooley is commenting in light of a letter sent to Clare County Council on behalf of former Minister for the Environment, Alan Kelly, which said it was a matter of each local authority to enforce existing laws as they see fit.

The letter also refers to reform of the household waste collection system, describing the introduction of pay by weight charges from July 1st as a positive step in the fight against litter.
But Deputy Dooley believes the new system may incentivise those responsible for illegal dumping rather than deter them
