Dooley elected FF Director of Elections for Referendum

Clare voters are being urged not to vent concerns over water and household charges in the upcoming European Treaty Referendum.

The call comes from local opposition TD Timmy Dooley who’s been appointed as Fianna Fáil’s Director of Elections for Stability Treaty Referendum which will see voters go to the polls on May 31st.

Fianna Fail are campaigning for a Yes vote, like the government parties, but they’ve accused Fine Gael and Labour of a hyper-political approach to the referendum by presenting it as part of their economic recovery plans.

Deputy Dooley says party politics needs to be put aside in the debate on the EU Fiscal Treaty and he hopes public anger over new water and property charges won’t cloud the issue.
