Dooley Hits Out At Communications Minister’s Claim Broadband Plan Costs Won’t Rise

Clare’s Fianna Fáil TD has hit out at the Communications Minister’s claim that Eir’s withdrawal from the National Broadband Plan bidding process won’t impact on the cost.

Just one bidder is left after Eir pointed to commercial and governance concerns as their reasons for pulling out.

It has led to concern that the remaining bidder, E-net, will be in a position to demand a higher price – something Minister Denis Naughten denies.

But Deputy Timmy Dooley, who is his party’s Communications Spokesperson, says a rise in cost is inevitable.
