The operators of the Doolin Cave are hoping to attract over 45,000 more tourists per year to the North Clare attraction with the opening of a new visitor centre today.
Doolin Cave houses the longest stalactite in the Northern Hemisphere and in one of the largest natural caverns in Ireland.
The new on-site visitor centre and café will be officially opened this afternoon and will be dedicated to the memory of the late writer Nuala O’Faoilain who was a close friend of the Browne family, who run the Doolin Cave.
