Members of the Doolin Coastguard say they’re delighted that the long battle for a new station has come to an end.
The government has confirmed that the project will go to tender in the coming weeks with the new station expected to be completed by the end of the year.
The new facilities will include a garage area for the storage of boats, cliff rescue, personal equipment and transport as well as changing facilities and an operations room, a stark contrast with the current station which has today been described as ‘primative
