Doolin Pier Bye Laws Look To Maintain Positive Experience For Visitors

Newly-adoped bye-laws for Doolin Pier include measures which mean that ferry operators there will have to maintain a "positive and welcoming" experience for visitors.

The laws include a code of conduct, compelling ticket sellers to act in a professional and courteous manner, as well as rules prohibiting "unsavoury communications" by ticket sales operators.

A new six million euro pier was opened at Doolin last year, and it's hoped the improved facilities will boost tourism and allow more passengers take ferries to the Aran Islands.

Lahinch FG Councillor Bill Slattery says it's important the new bye-laws are properly implemented
