Locals in Doonbeg believe the election of Donald Trump as US president would provide a significant boost for the area.
It looks likely the US Billionaire will take on Hillary Clinton in the race for the White House after his main rival for the Republican nomination Ted Cruz bowed out earlier this week.

Mr. Trump is the owner of the Trump International Golf Links and Hotel in Doonbeg and is seeking permission to build a 2.8km sea wall to protect the local coastline from erosion.
Locals in Doonbeg have told Clare FM they're hoping for a successful presidential run.
