It seems the old fashioned knock on the door is the still the best way for local election candidates to win votes.
The revelation comes from a Clare FM online opinion poll in which 57% of those surveyed said a door to door canvass of their neighbourhoods was the best way for election hopefuls to gain support.

The survey on clare.modus.ie also revealed 26% of people believe local radio is the best way to get the political message across, with flyers and posters accounting for just 5% and 2% of the vote respectively.
(Candidates will find out whether any of these methods will get them elected this weekend!)
