Drop In Live Register Figures In Clare

The number of people in Clare claiming some form of unemployment assistance has fallen once again.

Its the second consecutive drop in Live Register figures, with numbers falling for the first time in three months in August.

614 people left the dole queues in Clare in September with the number of people signing on in the county now at 7309.

There was a drop in numbers across the county with the most significant reduction in Ennis where 391 people signed off.

71 people left the dole queues in North Clare last month, while in the west of the county, there was a fall of 58.

In East Clare, 94 people withdrew from claiming some for of unemployment benefit last month.

There's traditionally a drop in figures in September as students return to education at the academic year begins.

There are 613 fewer people signing on in Clare than the same month last year, a drop of 7.7 per cent.
