The number of people on the Live Register has decreased during the past month.
The latest figures from the CSO show that during the month of August, there were over 434-thousand people signing on – that’s 2000 fewer people compared to July.

Of these, over 201 thousand are described as being long term unemployed.
Here in the Mid West – the numbers have also fallen – with 419 fewer people seeking some form of job seekers benefit in August – its also down over 2000 on the year.
