Dundons jailed for threats to Limerick Family

Two Limerick brothers have been jailed for a total of 11 and a half years for threatening to kill three members of the same family.

John Dundon, with an address at Hyde Road, Limerick and Wayne Dundon of Lenihan Avenue, Ballinacurra Weston, were convicted following a trial at the Special Criminal Court.

John Dundon was only out of prison hours when he beat down April Collins’ door threatening to kill her on April 3rd last year.

She gave evidence at their recent trial that  Wayne and John Dundon didn’t like it when she broke off her long term relationship with their brother Gerard who was father to her children.

The previous September, Wayne Dundon had made threats to her mother Alice Collins about her two sons claiming John would pay some fool ten grand to shoot Jimmy,  –  described as the quiet one.

The court heard there was bad blood between the 2 families following a prison row but presiding judge Paul Butler found its domestic nature didn’t lessen the offence.

Both brothers have previous convictions for making threats to kill  – Wayne Dundon has been jailed for 6 years, John Dundon will return to relative isolation at Portlaoise prison to serve 5 and a half years.
