Weight restrictions have been in place for the last year on Latoon Creek Bridge, which connects Clarecastle to the M18.
The figure is the single biggest for any project in the county, under the Regional and Local Roads Grant for 2017.
Ongoing concerns have been expressed over the structural soundness of Latoon Bridge and weight restrictions were imposed at the end of 2015.
The apparent flouting of the rules by some HGV drivers prompted locals to stage protests and, following investigations by specialist consultants, the restrictions were eased somewhat.
Last December, the council undertook to seek funds for a long-term engineering solution, with an anticipated start for that project of late 2017.
The figure of €1 million to Latoon Bridge is listed as a specific improvement grant and it's the single biggest allocation to any project in the county for this year.
Deputy Joe Carey says the works will make a big difference locally.
Separately, just under 700-thousand euro's been allocated for works on 14 bridges around the county.
Half a million euro will go towards the Shannone Crossing and 75-thousand to the Limerick Northern Distributor Road.
Overall just over 14.8 million has been allocated to Clare from the Department of Transport for Regional and Local Roads.
The figures represents an increase of 750-thousand on last year's allocation.
Nationally, 324 million euro's been earmarked for local and regional roads.
Transport Minister Shane Ross acknowledged last month that at least 580 million euro would be needed to maintain these routes.
