Just over 170,000 euro has been announced for development and repair projects on two piers in West Clare.
The projects at Querrin and Carrigaholt are among 39 across the country to receive funding under a 2.2 million euro Government package announced by the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Michael Creed.
€67,500 has been provided to Clare County Council for the construction of a slipway at Querrin Pier, with a further € 75,000 being allocated for essential repairs and upgrade to existing pier walls and deck, as well as the installation of railings at Carrigaholt Pier.
