More than €250,000 in funding has been announced for schools, playgrounds and community organisations in Clare.
The grants will be provided under the Department of Rural and Community Development’s CLÁR programme as part of a state strategy to revitalise rural towns and villages.
National schools in Fanore, Crusheen and Caherea will recieve €145,000 between them for the upgrading of footpaths, and developing a playground in Fanore’s case.

The Tulla Athletics Club is to have a walking trail funded, while Kilbaha’s playground is to receive an upgrade and Ballynacally Tidy Towns will be in a position to finance the construction of new footpaths near Clondegad’s GAA pitch.
