Thomas Corry, who worked at Limerick Prison on Mulgrave Street for 30 years, is charged with possession for sale or supply of quantities of cannabis resin, cocaine, and prescription drugs Alprazolam and Diazepam at Roxboro Road in Limerick City on the 16th of March.

Garda Monica O’Reilly presented the 51 year old accused with a Book of Evidence at Limerick District Court last evening.

Judge Tom O’Donnell noted the DPP’s consent for the matter to be dealt with during the next sessions of Limerick Circuit Criminal Court, due to begin in December.

There were no State objections to continuing bail on Mr Corry’s own bond of €500 and an independent surety of €2,500 which has been provided by his brother.
