Efforts are being made to wipe out an invasive plant species that’s spreading across Clare.
Japanese Knotweed is dotted around the County and can spread quickly and unhindered across watercourses, wastelands and transport routes.
Clare County Council is now trying to map the spread of the Knotweed in an attempt to eradicate it.

The plant can have a negative impact on the surrounding environment, as Botanist Dr Frances Giaquinto explained to Clare FM’s Morning Focus.
