Shannon’s largest employer is celebrating 50 years in business today as staff, past and present, are invited to an open day.
EI Electronics employs 430 people in the Shannon Free Zone, as well as 50 staff across Europe, in the manufacture and marketing of smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.
The company announced further plans for growth and the creation of another 20 jobs this week and is seen as a real success story in terms of home-grown industry operating on a global scale with an annual contribution of 30 million euro to the local and Irish economy.
