Eight women who died as a result of domestic abuse in Clare in the past 24 years are being remembered this week.
It forms part of Clare Haven Services’ 16 Days of Action on Violence Against Women, as part of an annual international campaign that comes to an end today, Human Rights Day.
The victims in this county are among over 200 nationally who have passed away by femicide, since Women’s Aid’s records began in 1996.

Manager of Services, Dr Siobhán O’Connor, says the women who have died here in Clare should be named and remembered.
