The main Ennis to Ennistymon route has been described as the most dangerous stretch of road in Ireland, with calls for urgent repairs to be carried out by the NRA.
This week’s meeting of Clare County Council heard urgent pleas for repairs to be made to the main N85 route, particularly where there’s a lack or embankments or roadside verges near Kilnamona cross.
Ennis West Councillor James Breen wants council engineering staff to visit the site immediately with a view to seeking emergency funds from the National Roads Authority to prevent serious road accidents.
