Around 300 passengers and crew on a flight to the Netherlands remained grounded at Shannon this afternoon following an emergency landing.
The KLM aircraft en route from Panama City to Amsterdam was forced to divert to the Mid West Airport just before 10.30 after the crew reported an unusual smell in the cabin

Emergency crews at Shannon were put on alert, but the plane landed safely, and it’s 281 passengers and crew have all disembarked.
They are now waiting at Shannon for a replacement aircraft to bring them onto their destination – a spokesman for KLM has told Clare FM that this will occur as soon as possible.
