The drafting of a comprehensive employment strategy for people with disabilities has been welcomed by Clare representatives.
The strategy will be published in 2014 by The National Disability Authority, and see a ten year programme to significantly increase the number of people with disabilities employed in both the private and public sector.
This recent announcement builds on progress being made here, with nearly five per cent of workers in Clare’s local authorities registered as having a disability.
Ennistymon Fine Gael Senator and Seanad Spokesperson on Disability, Martin Conway feels private companies across Clare can now take steps to follow suit.
