The Fine Gael Leader has indicated he would stall the reconfiguration of health services from Ennis General to Limerick Regional Hospital if his party’s elected to government.
It comes amid growing fears that acute medical facilities and some psychiatric services are set to close at Clare’s County Hospital from March 1st which staff say would turn Ennis General into a minor injuries clinic.
Around 500 people attended a public meeting on Friday where nurses and other medical representatives outlined their concern about the future of the hospital.
