Enda Kenny is to appoint his 11 Senators later today.
The move will allow the upper house of the Oireachtas sit for the first time, as early as next week.

49 Senators were elected to the Seanad a month ago but the upper house can't meet until the Taoiseach makes his 11 appointments.
Among those expected to be made Senators today are TD's who lost seats in the general election.
They include Fine Gael's deputy leader, former minister James Reilly and former junior minister Paudie Coffey.
