An Ennis actress has been awarded one of British theatre's most prestigious awards.
Denise Gough has been Awarded Best Actress in the Olivier Awards, which took place at the Royal Opera House in London last night.
Denise was nominated for her role as an addict in Duncan MacMillan's People, Places and Things.
She has already claimed the Best Actress prize at the Critics’ Circle theatre awards for the same part.
Accepting her award, Denise said it was "for her people" and tha she was just a bit disappointed that, in a year marked by widespread uproar about the lack of diversity at awards shows, she was “sad” about the lack of diversity among the nominees in her own category.
