Ennis Apartments Evacuated After Car Burst Into Flames

An apartment complex in Ennis was evacuated last night after a car burst into flames in a carpark.

The fire broke out at around 10.45pm in a parking area beneath the apartment block at the rear of the Downes and Howard complex on the Mill Road in Ennis.

Two units of the fire brigade along with garda units responded to the incident.

Emergency crews evacuated residents from the apartments above while fire personnel dealt with the blaze.

Fire fighters used foam to quickly extinguish the fire.

A check of the flats above was carried out to ensure they had not been affected before tenants were cleared to return to their homes.

No one was injured in the incident.
