The long running boil notice on the Ennis water supply has been lifted.
The HSE met with Clare County Council this morning to confirm that water quality tests on the supply from the new treatment plant in Drumcliffe have met with the full approval of health inspectors and the water is fully fit for human consumption.
The long running partial boil notice had advised boiling the water for the elderly, young children and the immuno-compromised, and previous boil notices caused concern and inconvenience for some 30,000 residents in and around Ennis, Clarecastle, Barefield and surrounding areas.
Clare County Council’s Head of Infrastructure, David Timlin says that’s now a thing of the past.
