An Ennis economist says new figures point to challenges being faced by women in the jobs market.
According to the latest figures from the CSO, nearly 12,000 people in the MidWest are earning the national minimum wage, or less, just under 10% of all workers here.
Fewer people are earning less than the national minimum wage, but women are more likely than men to fall into that bracket.
