It’s lighters out for smokers at Ennis General and other hospitals in the Mid-West today!
The Mid-Western Regional Hospital Group including, Ennis, Limerick and Nenagh are becoming Smoke-Free from today, to coincide with World No Tobacco Day.

But the smoke free campus plan is here to stay for visitors, patients and staff and a permanent ban on smoking in or around the hospitals including its grounds, car park and former smoking areas is being enforced with immediate effect.
Consultant Physician Aidan O’Brien admits patients who smoke will have no choice but to give up or take to the streets, but he says its in the interest of everyone’s health.
