Ennis is to become the first town in Ireland to offer free parking for electric and hydrogen powered cars.
Free spaces for e-car drivers will be offered at Abbey Street Car Park and Glór Car Park, where charging points were introduced in 2012.

It's hoped this will encourage motorists to 'go green'.
Fianna Fáil Councillor Brian Meaney feels it could also make the owners of these cars more inclined to visit the town.
