Ennis is in the running to be named as Ireland's top large tourist town.
The Fáilte Ireland competition, which is being held for a third year, has been revamped to reward both small and large areas, with Cobh, Killarney, Kilkenney, Westport and Trim all up against Ennis.

It comes as businesses report an upturn in the numbers of American and British tourists visiting the county town this summer.
