The Mayor of Ennis has expressed disappointment with reports of his recent comments about black families in the town, particularly references to the recent visit of Mohammed Ali.
Councillor Frankie Neylon sought to clarify the issue at last evenings meeting of Ennis Town Council, insisting he isn’t racist and was taken out of context when he said too many black families in local estates would create ghettos.
Councillor Neylon expressed upset at the way in which Mohammed Ali’s visit was included in media reports of his comments which he described as a simple slip of the tongue.
