Pedestrianisation of Ennis’ main streets in the run up to Christmas have been given the green light.
O’Connell Street and Abbey Street will be car-free during the main shopping hours of 12 to 6 pm on December 18th and 24th in a bid to boost Christmas shopping.

The measures by Ennis Town Council follows extensive consultation with the gardaí and the local business community – after efforts to bring in a more long term scheme had to be scrapped just weeks in , earlier this year.
Deputy Mayor of Ennis and Fianna Fail Councillor Michael Guilfoyle is urging the people of Clare to support the initiative.
