Gardaí are investing an attempted raid on a store in Ennis during which the owner was injured.
Two men wearing balaclavas and brandishing a hatched burst into Cootes Store on the Kilrush Road at around 6.30 last night and demanded cash.
They threatened the owner and then attempted to break open the till with the hatched.

However they were disturbed during the couse of the raid and fled the scene emptyhanded.
The shop owner suffered injuries to her arm in the incident
