Controversial plans for 34 million retail development on the Limerick Road in Ennis go on display to the public today.
Michael Lynch Ltd are proposing to build a major retail unit with Tesco as the main tenant along with offices and a public Library for the town on a site opposite St. Flannan’s College on the Clare Road.

Local opinion is divided on the development as although it promises up to 300 jobs in construction and 200 jobs on completion, Ennis traders question those figures and fear it will move business and jobs out of the town centre.
The site would require changes to the Ennis Development plan, and the proposal is still at the planning stage, but the plans are on display at the Temple Gate Hotel today between 12 pm and 8.
