Ennis to continue building civic relations

Ennis’ civic relationships with other countries are set to be expanded.

A delegation, led by the town’s Mayor, is set to travel to France next month to celebrate Bastille Day in the twn of Saint Paul de Fenouillet (fon-nwee-ay), which is twinned with Clare’s County Town.

Meanwhile, it has also been proposed that the campaign to become Ireland’s Friendliest Town be boosted by establishing links with the American City of Charlston.

The South Carolina city has been named America’s friendliest on 15 occasions in the past 30 years.

Fine Gael Councillor Johnny Flynn thinks that such an arrangement could have financial benefits for Clare.
