Ennis’ public water supply is expected to get the "all clear" within two months.
It was hoped the partial boil notice would be lifted last month with the new treatment plant coming on stream, however this was delayed after problems were discovered with the system’s ability to deal with the quantity of water coming through.

However briefing Ennis Town Councillors at their final meeting ahead of the local elections project engineers told them that the mains were being flushed once again and the boil notice should be lifted by the end of July.
Outgoing Fianna Fail Councillor Tom Glynn says it’s a very welcome development.
