Plans to resume flights from Shannon this morning had to be abandoned.
Irish airspace was due to reopen at 5 am but due to an renewed eruption of the Icelandic volcanio the Irish Aviation Authority has now reversed this decision and it wikll remain closed until 1 pm.
The IAA says the latest Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre reports show Ireland at the centre of a contamination zone until at least 1pm.
