Enterprise Ireland has defended its job creation record in Clare and MidWest, even though new figures show the region is lagging behind other parts of Ireland.
Figures released by the group show its client companies created 756 jobs here last year, but when losses are taken into account the net gain stood at 127, the lowest of any region in Ireland.

Across Ireland, the state body says its firms achieved their biggest increase in net jobs in more than a decade.
