ESB Reduces Flow Of Water Through Parteen Weir

The ESB says it's reducing the flow of water though Parteen Weir again.

The level in Lough Derg has continued to fall and the flow from the weir is being cut to 370 cubic metres per second.

It's expected to remain at this level for a few days, but it depends on rainfall levels.

This level of water flow continues to result in associated flooding to land and property along the lower Shannon, downstream of Parteen Weir, including Springfield in Clonlara.

Clare County Council says water levels in the area have dropped one foot below its peak on Saturday.
