Two new Wifi hotspots are to be funded for Clare, under an EU initiative.
The European Commission has announced results of the first WiFi4EU, which will see each location receiving a grant of €15,000 from the EU, with matching funding of €15,000 provided by the Department of Rural and Community Development.
The local authority has 18 months to select locations and deliver on the projects and hotspot locations need to be ‘centres of public life’ where no other free WiFi service is already available.
