The leaders of France and Germany will meet later today to hammer out a plan for further fiscal integration of Eurozone economies.
The deal is seen as the only real chance the bloc has of surviving.
Today’s meeting between Nicolas Sarkozy and Angela Merkel comes at the start of a crucial week for the euro – with all EU leaders preparing for a summit on Thursday and Friday.
