Opening hours at Ennis General Hospital's Medical Assessment Unit have been extended.
The decision was taken in an effort to provide improved services to the people of Clare, while reducing pressure on the Emergency Department at the region's main hospital.

The service will now operate seven days a week – from 8am to 6pm on weekdays and from 10am to 6 at the weekend.
Dr. Tom Peirce is the consultant in charge at the facility, he thinks the move will have a positive impact.
