FAI Conference pulled from Cliffs over strike risk

 

The Cliffs of Moher have been dealt a major blow as plans to host the Republic of Ireland manger and an FAI delegation this Friday have had to be cancelled.

Giovanni Trapattoni was due at the world famous north Clare attraction where he would be naming the Irish side for an upcoming friendly with Croatia, however with a staff strike looming, the location had to be changed.

The event will now be held at the Falls Hotel in Ennistymon and the change will be seen as a blow to highlight the Cliffs’ campaign to become one of the new seven wonders of nature, as a huge media presence is expected on Friday.

SIPTU workers at the Cliffs of Moher are set to vote today on an amended deal put forward by management to try and avert industrial action tomorrow but with a decision not expected until later today, the uncertaintyatly meant the venue for the FAI press conference had to be changed.
