Clare's construction sector shows little signs of growth, with a further fall in the number of planning applications last year.
Local authorities here gave permission to nearly 120 houses and 4 flats, the lowest figure in over a decade.
25 separate planning permissions were granted in Clare in the fourth quarter of last year, but all bar one allowed for the building of a one-off home to go ahead.
The other was for ten houses, the highest number of new homes approved in any single application in nearly three years.
The green light was also given to a single private flat, according to figures released by the CSO
In all, this means Councils in Clare gave permission for 117 new houses in 2013, an annual reduction of over 20 and the lowest figure since CSO records began in 2001.
