New figures have shown a fall in the value of home sales in West Clare.
The CSO has released its most detailed house sale statistics to date, which also show how the property market recovery has been slower in the Mid-West than in other parts of the country.
These new CSO statistics show the average home sold in Loop Head over the past year fetched just over 95,000 euro.
However, this is down by 4,000 euro based on the previous year, and the 4% drop is one of the highest in the country.
The statistics relate to areas which fall under the V15 Eircode Routing Key, which includes Kilrush and Kilkee.
Ths same figures show there were 954 homes sold in Clare last year, but only 61 of these where new homes.
The average value of house sales in the MidWest has increased less than in any other region and the average value of a home sold here is just over 134,000 euro.
